Whether you are hoping to gain experience, get an insight in to a different sector, or trying to reacquaint yourself with the workplace after a period away, volunteering can be a great experience.

Peer Mentor Volunteering

Mind in Salford and Salford Mental Health Forum are looking to recruit Volunteer Peer Mentors with lived experience of mental ill health for an exciting new project called Living Well Salford. This ground breaking new service will transform the way mental health services are experienced by those who need help and support.

Volunteer Peer Mentoring is a non-judgemental form of support between a person with lived experience and a person who needs help and guidance around that experience. In this case this is experience of mental ill health either directly or through caring for someone who has experienced it.

Our Volunteer Peer Mentors will help others in Salford who are struggling with their mental health, in a range of community settings. Using valuable lived experience, they will meet regularly to offer peer-to-peer support. Most activity initially will be online or in a Covid secure environment in the community.

All training is provided free, including access to Level 2 Peer Mentoring Award.
