Why we deliver this training

Research shows:

1 in 4

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England.

1 in 6.8

1 in 6.8 people experience mental health problems in the workplace.

11.1 per 100,000

Suicide rates are the highest they have been since 1999. It now stands at 11.1 per 100,000 people.

51%

Poor mental health accounts for more than half of all work-related illnesses. Around 51% of long-term sick leave is due to stress, depression, or anxiety.

The training created a space that was safe to explore an emotive subject, and despite having some experience and knowledge already I definitely feel more confident going away from this training.

ASIST participant

I really enjoyed the course, I found it informative and feel more confident in supporting people with their mental health. It was really nice and so important to have the time and space to think about these issues. It has definitely left me with lots to think about in regards to how I take my learning into my role.
