Support your community. Volunteer with Rainbow Mind.

We’re out and about this year—connecting, celebrating, and raising awareness at some of the biggest LGBTQIA+ events across Greater Manchester. From Pink Picnic to Sparkle, RHS Pride in Nature, Trafford Pride, and more—Rainbow Mind is showing up for community, visibility, and mental health.

Whether you love chatting with people, supporting on the day, or capturing the energy through photography, there’s a place for you on our team. You could also get involved in exciting upcoming events like spoken word nights and a comedy show.

The Rainbow Mind Development Board.

The Rainbow Mind Development Board, established in 2024, was created to raise awareness, expand support, enhance service provision, and help fund LGBTQIA+ specific mental health initiatives. Our members are based in both Greater Manchester and London and bring deep connections to community pride and professional networks.

We are proud to have convened a dynamic and diverse group of advocates, entrepreneurs, and influential leaders within the LGBTQIA+ community. Representing a broad spectrum of sectors—from corporate finance to grassroots wellbeing—our board plays a critical role in shaping strategic direction, amplifying our mission, and fostering inclusive, community-led events and visible support networks.

The Greater Manchester Development board includes the founders of Social Refuge and Feel Good Club, an Alcohol Change advocate, and a published author. Together, our members share a commitment to building safer, more inclusive spaces and championing mental health equity across all LGBTQIA+ identities.

In today’s challenging social climate, our work is more important than ever. The board is dedicated to helping create a safer, more supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals across Greater Manchester and beyond. We also recognise and respond to the diverse needs within our community—acknowledging the intersectionality of identities and the unique experiences that shape each person’s mental health journey.

Lauren – Rainbow Mind Event Volunteer

‘I had such a lovely afternoon volunteering with Rainbow Mind – supporting Karen with the Mindfulness walk. I was made to feel so at ease and very welcome. Everyone who joined us on our walk was extremely friendly, chatty and got stuck in. It was really great to meet people in the LGBTQIA community and share stories and our experiences – and ultimately feel like part of the community.

I’d definitely recommend volunteering with Rainbow Mind to anyone, it was such a great experience and I’d love to get involved again! Thank you Karen, Alison and Emily for making this opportunity available to me’
